GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
Hi guys!
Please help me with this issue ... at random intervals I get TX interrupt on my hotspot and the calls just stop.
The setup is Win7 laptop running MMDVM Host and then connected to GD77.
When the call is interrupted in MMDVM I see several messages: audio lost for xxx ms.
That behavior is also happening when using BlueDV for Windows and also when using BlueDV for Android.
It happens at random intervals. Sometimes I can hear a full call, sometimes it stops after a few seconds and sometimes after 60 or more seconds.
I have tried many different settings including all the power settings. Also, I used ferrites on the USB cable, I used external antennas but the problem is still there.
Apparently there is a similar problem when I transmit over the hotspot ... not always but sometimes.

Hi,
Which firmware version are you running ?
Something is not clear (to me), are you talking about TXing or RXing (with your transceiver, not the hotspot).
Cheers.

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
I am running firmware version D2021.04.03.01
The problem is most noticeable when I receive the hotspot transmissions on my radio (tested on excera and motorola radios).
But also it seems that there is a problem when I am TXing from my radio over the hotspot
I was not able to notice any pattern in the interruptions, that is frustrating
This is c/p from the MMDVM log:
D: 2021-08-10 09:02:52.123 DMR Slot 2, lost audio for 415ms filling in

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
It will take me some time to do the update. I will get back to you with the results once it's done.
Big thanks for your help so far!

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
Those MMDVM error messages are nothing to do with the radio or its firmware, they are indicating a problem with your internet connection. The data is arriving too slowly and is resulting in lost data packets and hence lost speech.
It could be due to your internet connection or the server you are connected to. It might be worth choosing a different server.

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
I have updated firmware, done some testing, used external antenna ... I also tried a different server (ping was around 10-20 ms) but the problems persist. The only thing that seems to bring positive results is connecting to a 4G internet connection.
It would seem that my home internet is causing the problems (call disconnects)! That comes as a big surprise to me since I have a very good and stable internet connection (at least it's what I thought).

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
Hi,
Since you're using a GD-77 as a hotspot, does your MMDVM configuration has RXOffset and TXOffset set to zero ?
Cheers.

Re: GD77 + MMDVM Host problems
OK,
Use your hotspot until you get these problems, then send me the mmdvmhost log file and your mmdvmhost config file.
Cheers.
