Menu(s) order
Menu(s) order
I'm not sure the current order in which the menu's is displayed is optimal.
Can people post what order they think would be the best for the menu e.g. have things that are used most frequently, easier to access, i.e less button presses.

Re: Menu(s) order
Hi Roger,
I don't have strong feelings about re-ordering the menu items since I usually don't go in there unless I've done a firmware update and the radio comes up with the default settings. But I'll list my primary items that I access most often:
First level of the menu:
Options
Display options
Channel details
In the Options menu (after a firmware update):
Beep Volume
DMR Mic
Scan Delay
Band Limits
I do browse the other menu items now and then, but the defaults work fine for me so I don't adjust most of them on a regular basis. Again, it only takes a few seconds to adjust the settings to my satisfaction so and then it's pretty much a set and forget thing.

beep vol to -3db
display brighness to 10%
display timeout to 5
power to 500mW

Re: Menu(s) order
My suggestion
After pressing green => Channel details (display inverse color for direct select)
Green 1 press up
Contacts
Green 1 press down
Zone
So oder on display would be
Contacts
Channel details (highlighed in inverse color)
Zome
Last heard
RSSI
Options
Battery
I would move Display Options, Credits and Firmware Info into Optons

Re: Menu(s) order
Thanks guys
I was thinking more of the menus use after the initial changes following a firmware update.
E.g. I often use LastHeard
I get to the Channel Details via Function + Green, so I agree that should be one of the easiest screens to get to via the menu.
You can also get to the Contacts via Function + Hash, and again I agree that one is used a lot.
For Zones I normally just use Function + Up / Down, but if people don’t use that method, then Zone would also need to be easy to access

Re: Menu(s) order
Perhaps the menus can be reordered by the user to the order they prefer.
Menu > Edit menu order
Then the user does a two-key up/down to move the menu item up or down.
Same for Channel details. Some users focus more on Analog and then it makes sense to have Rx frequencies quicker to access.
Just a few ideas.

Re: Menu(s) order
Ah OK. I had been using Green, select ZONES, then up/down.
Re: Menu(s) order
This is more of a user experience thing, but I think it would be more intuitive to have the menu return to the previously selected item when clicking back. E.g. when I go to Options and click back/cancel, the menu returns to Zone rather than Contacts.
