Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
I am looking for a batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory, because after uploading the factory firmware it was damaged and the desired operating frequencies can no longer be set, which are now generated accidentally. The size of the bin file is 16384KB. Now without replacing this file the radio is useless. I had such a situation with the RD-5R radio, in which it was damaged after performing a hard reset. Only after uploading the contents of such memory from a functional radio to the flash memory, it was possible to start it. Maybe someone has the ability to copy the content from their DM-1701, I would be very grateful, because I can't find the right file for a long time.

If you have damaged your flash memory, you will have cleared the factory calibration data which is stored in a separate part of the chipSO5AJG wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 5:36 pmI am looking for a batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory, because after uploading the factory firmware it was damaged and the desired operating frequencies can no longer be set, which are now generated accidentally. We do not have any code to write to the secure store where the calibration data is stored
Did you backup the calibration data using the official CPS
Re: Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
Unfortunately, I don't have any backup, because it was a friend's radio who wanted to update the firmware and ended up with the radio stopped working and left it to me. I even thought about buying a new radio, then copying the flash memory, but I came to the conclusion that it was an unnecessary expense, especially now that radios have become much more expensive. Can't you make a backup from another DM-1701 and upload it to mine, maybe something would help, it's worth a try. It probably won't get any worse. I even uploaded this new firmware, similar to GD77 and even succeeded, only it does not transmit and receive as with the factory firmware.

I will try to backup my DM1701, but I don't have an orginal backup from before a codeplug was loaded, and I don't think Daniel has a backup of the original data either

Hi,
No, I don't have a backup of the original data.
Cheers.

Re: Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
Thank you Roger, but unfortunately uploading this file didn't help. It would probably need to be downloaded from the original software. It's rather possible to download the programmer directly from the integrated circuit, but I don't have one. The TYT MD380 in the 70cm version has the same W25Q128BV chip, but here it is enough to clear the memory and the radio after switching on uploads some security package, maybe somewhere in the processor's memory or elsewhere and the radio is restarted. Just upload the codeplug and after the problem.
Re: Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
In addition, the cable from the hand-held frequency meter was damaged and I also had distortions even on a working radio. With the frequency set on DM-1701 - 144.500MHz, the meter shows 127.550MHz with a power of 0.3W. Sometimes it goes to 128MHz and above. You can see from this that calibration or a file from the original is needed.
Re: Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
The range of calibration frequency adjustment is very small, probably +/- 1kHz maximum, so I think your radio has more problems than simply the calibrarion.
What happened to this radio ? It sounds like it is very damaged.
Are you using the lastest OpenGD77 firmware in this radio ?
Re: Batch for the W25Q128BV flash memory DM-1701
I am using the latest FW from 11.03. I even have the correct menu as in the descriptions of the MD-1701, but with these frequencies you can no longer come to order from the moment the upgrade was done by a colleague. When taking measurements with the meter, the indications are still floating, from time to time it shows a small power of about 0.3W, but not always. I've been waiting since 2019 for the possibility of uploading this original batch to the flash memory, I even wrote to Baofeng, but to no avail. So I'm looking for an opportunity.
