ALPHA 2022 11 18
ALPHA 2022 11 18
New Alpha version is available
This version implements Talker Alias Position transmission , also know as In Call GPS.
This version now includes a GPS screen, with 2 sub pages, showing satellite RSSI and polar position
https://opengd77.com/downloads/MDUV380/ ... dc5ac6ace3
https://opengd77.com/downloads/MDUV380/Firmware/Latest
Note.
Not all networks support Talker Alias transmission.
DMR MARC does not support this, and AFIK never well. Do not enable TA Tx if you use a DMR MARC network.
Brandmeister network supports "In Call GPS"
Log into your Brandmeister account and go to the SelfCare section
https://brandmeister.network/?page=selfcare
Select radio Brand as ETSI, or Motorola or Hytera
This will then allow the "In Call GPS" option to be enabled
Save these settings
On the radio..
Enter your location into the Radio Info screen
Then enable TA Tx . Options -> Radio Options -> TA Tx:On
Transmit for server seconds.
Check on https://aprs.fi to see if your position has been reported
Important
Currently not all Brandmiester servers handle negative values of Latitude and Longitude
If your position is not being reported on https://aprs.fi, change to one of the BM servers running the latest software update.

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
Great! A big applause for the effort to Roger and the team!
Installed it right away. I am now able to run openGD77 on both my GD77 and RT3S with GPS. Excellent! Will Talker Alias for GPS work if I use OpenGD77 on the GD77 as hotspot?

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
OK. Thanks for the feedback! Tested toward a DMR repeater 26 km away (SK6AG, Guldheden, Gothenburg). Got the correct GPS position through BM to aprs.fi! Talker Alias for GPS seems to work quite well at this lat/long! Will test with the openGD77 hotspot again next time.
Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
Hello everyone, is it possible that in this update the boot image has lost display time? Thank you.

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
Boot text and boot image display time are set by the length of the boot melody.
If you don't want a boot melody
Put
0,50
into the boot melody and the boot screen will be displed for 2 seconds
50 is duration
0 is tone i.e no tone
Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
Hi Roger, I have followed your instructions but it's still the same. I've tried putting 0,50 with the same result. In my case, boot melody plays my callsign, but the screen is black all the time, only when the boot melody ends does it show the boot image for less than 1 second, then the control screen appears.
I paste the string of my callsing in case it was necessary:
38,2,0,6,38,2,0,2,38,6,0,6,38,2,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,6,0,2,38, 6,0,2,38,6,0,6,38,2,0,2,38,2,0,6,38,6,0,2,38,6,0,2,38,2, 0,2,38,6,0,6,38,6,0,6

Can you zip your codeplug and post it here, so I can try it on my radio
Re: ALPHA 2022 11 18
Hi again Roger, at some point during the update, which I repeated 2 or 3 times, there must have been an error. I have downgraded to the version I had previously, dated 2022-10-19. From then on, the screen shows the boot image fine. I have continued updating, one by one, to test if the error was reproduced and everything has been correct.VK3KYY wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 9:49 amStrange.
