Re: ALPHA TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information
Hello,
just recieved one rt3s from my colleague S57OM, and installed opengd77, works perfect - but rx signal recieve is the same as on mine and not so good as on baofeng 1801 so not hardware problem.

Basically no.
DJ4LEX investigated SMS and created partially functional SMS Rx, but he said that there was multiple different standards for SMS on DMR and even if we made it work with one standard, it would only be able to communicate with some radios and not others.
So currently, no one is interested in working on this functionality.

And what functions will GPS perform in the absence of SMS? Only for satellites?VK3KYY wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 10:15 amBasically no.

Re: ALPHA TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information
I'm testing the RT3S version for a clock of 120 Mhz, the radio is sometimes muted, other times generating continuous noise. when I move the channel key sometimes the radio normalizes. Other times the solution is to turn the radio on and off to normalize. Are you observing this problem? Is there any solution ?

The problem I observe is the interruption of the reception signal. which normalizes when I turn the radio on and off.
As for the reception quality, I don't have parameters to compare, because I use Hotspot to access the Brandeister Network and I don't difference with the Baofeng 1801.

That version is now obsolete. Please do not use it.
Please use the latest alpha version listed here viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2409#p19975

Hi!
I just received an MD-UV390 and installed the alpha, and I can confirm it works fine in this radio too. I’ve been testing it for a day and so far I haven’t found any problems (it takes a looooong time to get a GPS fix, but I’ve read in the forum that this is a hardware problem… thanks TYT in fact with the stock firmware I didn’t get any GPS signal at all).
With the inverse colour setting (black background) it looks great and much better than the original fw’s blue background. I’d use a bigger font for the channel name but it looks great anyway as it is right now.
Congratulations to the developers for this great work.
PS: now that the firmware supports two devices with GPS capability, are there any plans in the future (obviously, when it’s stable) to include features like APRS or transmitting the location via DMR frames? That would be interesting. And is there any way to use the GPS info for the satellite screen? So far i just managed to copy the coordinates manually, I don’t know if I’m missing something.
