Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Wow.... Were there power tweaks made recently? I turned my radio on yesterday at 8am, rx-only on a fairly quiet repeater, but it's been on for 24 hours now. Battery is at 50%. Eco level 3, backlight set to auto 10s.
I might turn on another radio just to make sure it's actually working but it seems to be, I heard someone bring up 91 for a while earlier today so it was certainly working for that.

Yep, I use Eco 5, it's even better (the MCU is running a 9MHz while "sleeping"). But with this one, you can miss the very beginning of a transmission, sometimes.
Cheers.

Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Yeah I did have it on 4 or 5 and I found it to be pretty sleepy to wake up, often missing who was being called, or the callsign if someone was just throwing theirs out there. I don't know that 3 is that much better, I never attempted to test the difference, but I haven't noticed it being an issue so I just left it on 3.

Depends on what you are listening tokt4lh wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:40 pmYeah I did have it on 4 or 5 and I found it to be pretty sleepy to wake up, often missing who was being called, or the callsign if someone was just throwing theirs out there. Doesn't seem to be a problem on DMR repeaters, because the other station can't transmit until the wakeup squence is complete
However DMR simplex takes a long time to wake up.
Not sure about FM
So its up to each operator to decide the level of battery life versus responsiveness they need.
Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Unfortunately the restart bug does still exist, most of the time after being set to a single DMR frequency and talk group, after there is no traffic on this combination in 4 minutes it restarts.
Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Do you mean just listening to a repeater or hotspot or do you mean a simplex frequency ?
What Eco mode are you using,
Try setting Eco 0 and see if it still reboots
Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
Interesting, I use the GD77 on the local repeater almost exclusively, my 878 is often on the Hotspot. I'll try Eco 5 again, maybe there was something else going on. Either way, very impressive battery life.VK3KYY wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 11:46 pmDepends on what you are listening to

Re: Public Beta (2022 01 09)
I installed this version yesterday and for about 5 hours it worked without problems, but after this period it restarted after it restarted the first time, the other restarts started to be in less time between 30 and 50 minutes. In tx it works perfectly both in fm and dmr. I got an rt3s to test transmission in dmr. Thanks to the developers for their patience, dedication and excellent work 73.
