It should be working.

In the radio you have to enable it in the Options and set to MMDM

Yes I have done that. I will keep trying to figure it out when I get home. It wasn’t working when I left.

For anyone who had problems building from the source code.

Colin G4EML let me know that we did not provide instructions to create the blank linker data codec section files

Here are the instructions to create the 2 necessary files

On Windows the files can be created using these commands

fsutil file createnew codec_bin_section_1.bin 16384
fsutil file createnew codec_bin_section_2.bin 163984

On Linux use

dd if=/dev/zero of=codec_bin_section_1.bin bs=16384 count=1
dd if=/dev/zero of=codec_bin_section_2.bin bs=163984 count=1

Hi,

or execute "codec_cleaner -C" from the firmware/tools directory, on both platform ;-)

Cheers.

You guys are awesome. I just flashed three GD-77 radios with the new process. Simple, elegant and seamless. It is totally amazing that you have been able to accomplish this in such a short period of time. Thanks to everyone so much. Your work is appreciated.
(LOL) 2 months solid work by 2 people ;-)
I know it was 2 months of herculean work but it was short by commercial standards. If you worked for a big company, your company would have you guys still in a meeting with menu screens on the white board and some Black Belt guy would be complaining about compliance with Six Sigma processes.

Thanks Roger, Daniel and the rest of the team. I've installed the latest firmware to three GD-77's without a problem. Seems to be working fine in DMR and analog. I really appreciate the effort you guys put in.
