I have started to test the hotspot mode on my MD-9600 and it seems to work but maybe a bit unstable, I can run for several hours with
activity on TG91 and other TG's but eventually the daemon die due to lost modem.
It could be due to that I run on Windows 10 with a mmdvmhost.exe that I have compiled myself with MS Visual studio so later on I will
try the radio via a raspberry pi 3+ and pi-star to see if that makes any difference.

This sort of problem happens on the GD77 if RF enters the USB cable. Do you have chokes on the cable

Nope but I'll try that , I can run it some time on a dummy load too.
But it seems that the problem appeared some time after the last transmit, I had it connected to TG91 for several hours earlier without
problems, seems more to be related to long idle. Could be some power save in my Intel NUC that affects the USB.

OK

AFIK many people use it for hotspot mode and no one else reported any problems.

I agree. Look in the driver manager for the USB port to confirm that power saving is not enabled.

I had power saving problems with the wifi on some of my PC's and had to disable power saving in the driver

Hi all,
I am running a older MD9600 as Hotspot with Raspberry Pi and use the same hardware driver as before openGD77.
It is working very well running with power 1 Watt I can run my hotspot far from home. You can also use the BlueDV
software on a PC. Thank you VK3KYY for this fine solution!
