Anyone doing this? I'm trying to use an app called pulse modem A on iOS. I have gotten it to transmit but don't have anyone locally to test it. I can audibly hear the tone generated by it but not getting onto APRS.fi
If anyone has experience with the above set up, would like to ask specifics.
SET up: RT3s (openGD77) with GPS connected to a APRS V1 cable which is connected to an iPAd with pulse modem A. Trying to send text is ultimate goal but experimenting with everything in between.

I've certainly does this on an HT, don't think I've done it on an OpenGD77 radio offhand though.
In the past I've done it with a few Baofengs, and to just transmit (not receive) on my Android phone I could simply enable VOX and plug a TRRS cable between phone and HT and I ran APRSDroid.
Can't speak for Apple stuff, but, in general this works. Of course, it's not listening so it'll potentially transmit at the same time as another station.
