Question on Zone function

Post by IW6CNM » Mon Apr 20, 2020 1:29 pm

I have a GD-77 and a DM-1801 , always used as Hotspots
Today i'm playing a little bit with DM-1901 as normal radio
i did a small CP with just one dmr zone , but i can't run it fine.
This is what i see:

On the second diplay line i see one of the contact from the rx list
In the third line the active channel
In the fourth line the active zone

Image

So , when i press the PTT button the radio will not tx on the Active Channel ( HS Sicily in this case ) but on the active rx list contact
Sure i missed something but i don't know what.
I used OpenGD77 CPS 20200315

In vfo mode dmr works great
Thanks anyone would answer me
regards

That’s correct.

The RX list is also used for selecting the transmit Talkgroup in OpenGD77
Press the left and right arrows to move through the list. Your radio will transmit on the selected
Talkgroup.

Unlike other DMR radios this means you only need one channel per repeater or hotspot. First you select the channel then you select the Talkgroup to use on that channel.

That's ok , it's great but it's a little bit confused ..
The system let the operator load the Zone but can't choose the zone channels !
What's the meaning of that?
I surely made some mess on the cp

You choose a channel zone, but the main difference with OpenGD77 is, there is no contact per channel linkage, you're free to select any contact of the contact list for any channel. That drastically reduce the required number of channels you have to setup in the CPS (repeater frequency * TS * contacts)

Cheers.

Hi Daniel
Thanks for reply and thanks you and all the OpenGD77 teams for the great work.
This function is great , i saw it
In vfo mode it's possible to choose any contact from tg list
in memory mode this function works with the TG rx list and in each list
can be stored 32 tg , it will be nice have a greater TG rx list , it will reduce the zones.

Anyway this is a great function..
thanks again

Yup, 32 per list.

But, you can select whatever contact from the contact list, and it's not limited to 32 entries (main menu->contacts->contact list->pick one->Select TX.

Also, I didn't mention that direct entering of PCs / TGs is also limitless (+ the SK2 on RX ;-) ).

Cheers.

When you're receiving a DMR signal, if you press the SK2 (blue button), the transceiver will be set to the correct TS, PC/TG at once, overriding the current channel settings. An easy way if you want to jump in a QSO on different TG.

Cheers.
