Anyone using Linux?
Re: Anyone using Linux?
I got a cheap 80.00 laptop and use it to program my radios and scanners, everything else is done on other pc's running Linux Mint
Re: Anyone using Linux?
Success story!
I have now managed to get everything working under Linux (flashing the OpenGD77 firmware via Python script, CPS installation AND read/write via CPS (running in Wine). I had done it with a liveboot version of MX Linux. Obviously it depends on the compatibility of all programme versions involved (Wine-Mono etc.).
Of course, the necessary steps (described elsewhere) must also be observed: udev script; Wine registry entries so that the port is recognised and usable.
Conclusion:
Even if it was written several times that it was hopeless under Linux, it still worked to write the code plug on the RT3S.

Re: Anyone using Linux?
ok, so how did you get cps on wine to see the usb/cable? can you pop a link to what you did or what you referenced? thanks, --gaspo.
Re: Anyone using Linux?
Beggers can't be choosers, and I'm happy with what I have, but man I'd love a way to flash contacts from Linux natively.
