ve7mdt wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 2:37 amI just scanned through this thread and am amazed at the creativity that many of you have in sound and graphics.
I wonder w/ the latest colour support in MD-UV380 / RT3s, will there be any submissions for a colour version of bootscreen here? (same or diff thread)?
(I loaded the DMR OpenGD77 logo one, and its contrast is a bit low in the RT3s w/ beta colour version firmware. but still want to thank the poster for it.)
Cheers!
It all depends on the creativity by users...
I'm pretty sure we will soon see colour bootscreens in here.
Come on!!
Let us see how creative you all are!!

Hi,
I don't see the reason to use a lot of storage space (and it won't fit anyway) for something you see, maybe, once a day. It's just eye-candy.
Plus, now you can define background and foreground colours.
Cheers.

It may us the sane amount of memory than currenty do... Isn't it?
Anyway, users may have the freedom to choose what they want to store at the equipment...
Re: [Bootscreens and Melodies] Post your creations here.
Nope. The bootimage is 1bit color depth. Any color format need more, hence drasticaly increase the data size (x-bits per pixel * width * height). For a 16 bits per pixel, with the GD77 screen size (128 * 64), it woud be 16384 bytes. Using 1 bit per pixel is 1024 bytes.
So, 1k vs 16k.
So, 1k vs 16k.

Can be used the same space?

1024 bytes, as I wrote
