buttons on dm-1701 with opengd77

Post by py1leo » Mon Sep 04, 2023 8:38 pm

Hello my friends I have always followed a great radio amateur here in Brazil PU4BLA - Gustavo in his highly educational videos with opengd77 and hotspot, but I could not find anything how to define or change the short press or long press buttons SK1, SK2, SK3, P1 and P2 on the DM1701 with the opengd77 CPS.
I'm about to receive the Baofeng DM-1701 and I'm going to put the opengd77 firmware on it straight away and from what I understand I won't be able to use the cps from the original radio and so I couldn't find a button settings section.
Could someone help me?
Thank you very much.

SK1 and SK2 is already used together with other keys for quick access to various functions.

https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... nd-buttons

You can also assign your own quickkeys

Thanks for the prompt reply SAOBUX Got it, if I want to change any keys sk1,sk2, sk3, p1 and p2 I should do it from updating to the opengd77 firmware only via the radio menu .

Thank you

Only the number keys can be assigned as quick keys.
The operation of all other keys is fixed and cannot be changed by the user.

I just thought that to help users who want to change sk1, sk2 and sk3 they could do it directly via cps opengd77 like the picture I showed in my first post that has the baofeng cps dm1701, I wanted to clear up this doubt and suggest this idea to the developers. ;)

The firmware now has many more functions than the original firmware that need to be controlled by key combinations. If these keys were user definable it would be impossible to ensure that all the features still worked as intended.
