Colorized OpenMDUV380
Colorized OpenMDUV380
Hi. I'm starting fresh with a Bog stock RT-3. Downloaded the new CPS and the color firmware. I installed the CPS and on the way I told it to install the driver. There is no new COM port set up on the PC. On radio turn on/off it acts like there is a COM port being set up/torn down but nothing is available. Device manager shows no errors. Any ideas?! Thanks!

I've moved your post because it does not seem to actually be related to the theme system now in the latest OpenGD77 UV380/RT3S firmwarek4rjj wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 1:42 amHi. You've not actually indicated whether you have installed the firmware, or if you have... which firmware version you have downloaded and installed.
i.e There are the OpenGD77 UV380 Beta firmware, but other people also publish there own versions of the firmware.
So, you need to be clear about exactly what you have done.
Only the OpenGD77 UV380 downloaded from www.opengd77.com has the user configuarable colour theme system, written by Daniel F1RMB and the matching CPS version.
There seems to be confusion, because we currently allow people to post links to their own custom versions of firmware onto this site.
However, if this becomes a support problem, we're going to need to no longer allow people's own modified versions of the firmware to linked to on this forum.
Re: Colorized OpenMDUV380
You will not see a com port until you have loaded the new firmware into the radio.
The original factory firmware and the bootstrap loader do not enumerate as com ports.

Wait, wait... The guy said RT3, not "s" (MDUV380), or am I missing something...
