I managed to get a TYT-MD760 from a vendor on AliExpress and it works just fine with Opengd77, thanks. I went through two orders, each vendor messaged me that the factory was out of parts for that model and had no production date set. They offered me a "chinese" version that they did have in stock which is what I ended up getting. Thanks for that link, I did order another one today as it showed "last one".

TYT makes the clock radio hardware, ((MD-760). Radioddity stick their own badge on it, and install slightly different firmware.

So, after you install the OpenGD77 firmware the radio, it will be identical to a GD77 badged radio with the OpenGD77 firmware installed

If anyone opens their GD77 and looks at the PCB, They will see it had MD-760 written on it

I just ordered one from your link. Also told me it was the last one and would not let me buy 2. I had to buy the British wall adapter.

The charging bases I've always seen with the GD77 are 12v, just trash it and power it off your bench power supply. In fact if you have a MD380 or Anytone 878, perhaps others, the base is all more or less common between them.

I think some PSUs output 10V to the charger base, but probably anything above 9V would work.
The internal electronics in the bases is also junk. Most people buy a $2 charger module and fit it inside the base instead of the existing electronics

I have an Anytone 878 as well, and the charging dock (base) died one day. Luckily the dealer I bought it from, Let's Get Ready (yes, that's the name of the dealer, based in Los Angeles) is very nice and shipped me another one, without asking me to ship back the other unit, as it was within warranty. In the meantime, I was in a rush, so I cut the notches on the sides of the base of my TYT so I can charge the Anytone, kind of ruined it for the TYT later on.

I haven't replaced the circuitry inside, but maybe I should, on all of them (As I own several of these radios, as listed in my sig).
I charge my 878 and GD77 in the same base, maybe you cut yours too much? I've only charged the two radios in the same base, with a TP5100 in it, for a year or so since I got the 878.. 878's charger is still in its box.

Yes, the MD-760 is a GD77 with a TYT sticker on it (well, it's the opposite in fact)

Cheers.

Radioddity buy blank MD-760 radios from TYT, and stick their logo on the radio, and then install slightly different firmware to the MD-760 firmware.

I might have been too aggressive in my cutting of the notches in the cup. Very possible. It is still usable. I put a tape in front to make the radio stay in place, very ghetto!

I will invest in an aftermarket power supply module to replace the one inside the dock.

Talking about these cheap adapters, the Baofeng RD-5R came w/ a better one than the UV-5R ones, that the AC adapter buzzes loudly!
You can get chargers on Amazon for like $12 in case yours is so problematic it's worth replacing. MD380, Anytone 878, GD77, etc, all same charger base if you can't find a GD77 specific one.

And yep, TP5100 are great, you probably have to buy a 3 or 5 pack of 'em but they're handy to have around :)
