The eeprom and the flash are used for the codeplug, DMR database and voice prompts. They are used differently by OpenGD77 compared to the official firmware. Using OpenGD77 results in the eeprom and flash being changed. The official firmware may not work correctly if the eeprom and flash are not as it expects.

ah ok.
so while using the CPS software it writes over eeprom and flash.
that makes sense now.

They are unique to each radio. You would need to back them all up.

I have a bunch of dm-1801. Are the EEPROM & FLASH Backups Hardware Dependent(Serial # Check)?

Do I need to backup each radio or will one of the backups work for all of them if I want to go back to Stock?
