ARS -

Does OpenGD77 have ARS? If so can it be disabled?

Im trying to use a DMARC repeater that requires it to be turned off. I'm using a GD-77.

The ARS mentioned in DMR-MARC notes is nothing to do with repeater shift, it is a Motorola specific function “automatic registration service.” It causes the radio to send regular messages announcing its presence on the network.

Open GD77 (and as far as I know all non-Motorola radios) does not do this.

OpenGD77 works fine on DMR-MARC networks.

I’ve triple checked my programming and everything looks right (color code and time slot). The HT doesn’t timeout so it appears it’s talking to the repeater. If I change the frequency it does time out.

Friends have confirmed they can connect to the repeater. Even another guy using a gd-77 with stock firmware.

What else could it be?

Make sure you are selecting the correct talkgroup for the repeater, a wrong talkgroup will appear to work but other people may not hear your transmission.

Also check you have entered your DMR ID correctly. Some repeaters and networks block transmissions from invalid IDs.
