Larger memory
Re: Larger memory
It is version E2021.11.02.01.
Re: Larger memory
I just checked and my 8Mb is being backed up OK.
I don't have a radio with 16M so can't test that
Its possible the 16Mb support was not in the version from 02 / 11 /2021, as only Daniel had a 16Mb radio
Re: Larger memory
Well, maybe I need his version then.
Re: Larger memory
I just checked and support was added before 02/11
Do you know what ID code your chip uses
The firmware and cps expects 0x4018
if your chip does not reply with that device indentifier it won't be recognised as 16M by the firmware or the cps
Re: Larger memory
I have no idea. Is there any way I can find out?
Re: Larger memory
The original flash chip shows SPI ID:EF4014
The new flash chip shows SPI ID:EF7018
Does that sound like the ID code you are referring to?

Re: Larger memory
That device ID 7018 is not currently supported.
What manufacturer is that chip made by. The code does not seem to be a Winbond device.
Even if we changed the firmware to accept 7018 as a valid chip code, it may not work because the commands may be different because its not a Winbond device.
Edit.
I checked Digikey for the part number you quoted in an earlier post,
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... IG/3008697
and its definietly supposted to be a Winbond device
However, if you look in the Winbond data sheet, the code should be 4018
https://www.winbond.com/resource-files/ ... %20kms.pdf
So your chip is probably a clone or fake winbond, not a real one
Re: Larger memory
Actually it is a Winbond device. It's a 25Q128FVSG chip.
Re: Larger memory
Well, that figures. What's the ID code of the original flash chip?
