I backed up the flash from the radio and HxD says it is identical to the original backup.

The odd thing is the new backup is only 1MB like the original and not 16MB.

I forgot to mention that while I was making the new backup, I got the Port Closed error.

This is not a complete backup, its only the Settings e.g. backlight intensity , beep volume etc etc

You should have done a full backup, or a calibration data backup

How do I do a full backup? I have a flash backup. I also have a calibration backup from a while back.

I also have a flash programmer with a chip clip and I backed up the original flash chip before I removed it.

use the flash backup or the backup from the clip if its a raw data backup.

Question: If the CPS is aware of the size of the flash chip, why would it only backup 1MB and not all 16MB?

I compared the backup with the chip clip with the backup from the CPS and they are identical.

Not which firmware
