Hi Daniel,
thank you for your immediate reply. I have used the same 25Q64fvsg in my first GD-77 and all work fine. Where I can get/see the hex-ID? At the moment I have re-installed the old 25D80ASTIG in my second GD-77.

Do you have the full model number of the 25Q128fvsg and 25Q64fvsg (you may have some extra letters).

Cheers.

Dear Daniel,

I have checked the flash memories with my universal eprommer. Fortunately I have the right adapters for these little things :-)
For Winbond 25Q128fvsg: EF 40 18
For Winbond 25Q64fsvg: EF 40 17
For BoyaMicro 25D80ASTIC: 68 40 14 (the genuine flash memory in my GD-77)

Meanwhile I have fitted the 25Q128 in two Baofeng DM-1801. They are working pretty.

Hopefully that helps.

0x4017 and 0x4018 are fine and supported.

Let summarize. You have made a backup of the original 1MB Flash, right ?.
Same for the calibration data ?

Cheers.

Yes backup from genuine flash and calibration data.

As I remember, the CPS couldn´t access the flash with some i/o errors.

Well, that's strange. Are you sure your flash chip is working ?

As both Flash models are already supported by both the firmware and CPS, I can't see why you are experiencing such errors, for now.

Cheers.

Just to be sure, you leave your GD in normal mode, not in bootloader, right ?

Of course, not in firmware mode :-)
I have checked the W25Q64 and W25Q128, which were´t working. I can program, verify and erase the devices. Therefore definetely no OTP (would be possible from Chinese source).
