That's true that could be the reason, I am going to test it by saving some of the satellites as channels or using vfo with narrow fm.
Thank you

Btw, could you please change my username to my callsign (OK3SN) I wasn't aware of the convention.

I've changed your username

Re: Bandwidth versus sensitivity

You would need to put a satellite Rx freq into the VFO and then compare whether it appears to be a better signal on FM narrow.

I know on some radios, e.g. MD9600, that signals appear to be stronger when narrow bandwidth is selected, but these radios have completely different RF hardware to the GD77

I don't know anything about the RF hardware in a UV-88.

My guess is that it probably uses the same baseband RF chip (AT1846S), but probably the RF preamps and filters are different.
Its possibly like a lot of the cheap Baofeng radios which do not have separate RF sections for VHF and UHF, and just rely on a single filter close to the antenna, (both for Tx and Rx).

Potentially if the RF amp has more gain, because it has to be wider band, the radio may be more sensitive, but you'd really need to use some specialised test equipment to validate whether its more sensitive or if the audio is just louder etc
