Newbie problem with audio in DMR

Post by KF4HHG » Sun Aug 22, 2021 7:57 pm

Probably something simple but all of my analog channels work fine. My DMR channels have no audio. Green receive light comes on but no sound. I know its got to be something I am missing.

Which radio? What firmware version? What OpenGD77CPS version?

In OpenGD77CPS if you go to "Extras - Firmware loader" does the title of the new window that opens say "Firmware Loader [+DMR]"? If not you skipped some key steps in the flash instructions.

Radio is Radioddity GD77, Firmware 4.3.6 CPS version R2021.08.05.01. In Extras it does say Firmware Loader [+ DMR] I have setup two local repeaters and some talk groups listed as well as Parrot. When you use PTT after release Green light comes on and shows good signal strength just no audio even with filters off. Analog repeaters just fine. Downloaded a code plug off the forum and added my two repeaters same issue. I have input my ID and Call sign.

About the filter set to OFF, if you transmit on a given TS, it will stick to it for Options's "Filter Time" long, a.k.a 10 seconds by default.
Ensure you're transmitting on the right timeslot.

You say the repeater continues to transmit after your transmission, but does it transmit almost as long as you used the Parrot, I mean you woke up the repeater, then transmitted, maybe on the wrong TS, so it will hang after a while when you stop transmitting.

Double check the repeater(s) configuration, many of them have one TS/TG for local communications only and the other TS for network access (with/without TG limitations).

Cheers.

Exactly the same problem on my RD-5R to be honest I think the firmware has broken my radio.
I have exactly this problem.

Radio: RD-5R
OpenGd77 CPS: latest
Firmware Loader [+DMR]
Firmware version: PublicBeta_20211114. OpenRD5R.bin

Whee can I find a non beta STABLE version?

The firmware can't break your radio. Please avoid claiming such false assertion.

The filter time bug while TS filter is off has been fixed yesterday, after a user reported on the forum. The fix.will part of.the next beta.

Yeah had to purchase a new radio think this RD-5R has had it unfortunatly sorry for saying it was the firmware.
Does Opengd77 support my new radio DM-1702? I have seen it for DM-1701 but not DM-1702.

Many thanks
