Becasue of the problem with the FM 25kHz bandwidth frequency offset, I've done a temporary fix

See

downloads/MD2017/Firmware/d63265696e4f4 ... 8c9f3d684d

There appears to be a general problem in both the MD2017 and UV380/DM1701 etc codebases where the DMR+FM DSP chip is not being configured correctly, and in the case of the MD2017 its causing an additional frequency offset.

We are now investigating the problem on both the MD2017 and UV380.

Note. The UV380 version already has a 3kHz frequency correction factor, which should probably not be necessary

EDIT:
Some fixes/improvments:
- Trackball settings to make it more or less reactive (Off/Low/Fast).
- Supports external mic.
- Fixes some Flash write problems on shutdown.
- Fixes ECO mode.
- Some speed improvments.
- RSSI calibration updates (thanks to OH2FHJ).
- CustomData erase on startup (SK2+Down+Power On)

After testing for a few days, I found that it was very power consuming. Even when I only listened and didn't emit, the battery still consumed very quickly. After being fully charged for an hour, it was about 80%. I turned on 89% of the battery at 10 o'clock this morning, and now it has been two and a half hours. Currently, the battery is 66%. Screen brightness of 10%, transmission power of 250mW, screen delay of 15 seconds

There is a loud electric current sound when the signal comes in, and there is a loud electric current sound in the voice background. I have confirmed that everyone's signal comes in with a loud electric current sound

You already told us, few posts back.
Clicking sound is a known problem.

Thank you for your reply

Well, what I'm describing is the simultaneous presence of two different sounds, a clicking sound and an electric current sound

I also found out:
- battery consumption high, especially when tx
- when rx, mostly present some constant high pitxh sound in the background - the same is heard in my rt90 v1
- low audio volume, if you set rx gain to 9, it becomes somehow garbaged, idk if its hardware issue - speaker cant handle it or software
- tx analog, operators say they also hear some noise in the background
- othervise everything ok, gps works as it should, operators say on dmr voice quality is good

Question, not connected to radio but opemgd77 in general. Is there any possibilities you could save list of favourite contacts for a pvt call as a shortcut, so you dont need to always put id to make a call?

No one else reported poor battery life.
Measure the current consumption during Tx to confirm whether the problem is battery capacity or your radio consuming more current that it should be.

Did you dim the display backlight ? No one else reported any Rx noise.

The latest update has slighly higher audio level, but I have noticed that the audio volume is lower than when using the official firmware and at the moment I don't know why this is.

Hi,

Bg0dpj just mentioned the same problem with consumption. 5 min qso from 100 to 79%, 5w output power uhf.

I will update and report. I can also record noise on rt90 and on rt82 and post it later today.

Checked the frequency offset on the RT82 and verified that it's the same on FM and FMN with the update.
