The serial number written in the battery compartment? If so, here are the two: 1707A02061 and 1706A1848.

OK

Thats interesting
I received a report that serial number 1707A02782 did not work, but your serial number / date code are 1707 and older 1706

Which of your radios works ?

OK. Thanks.

I was confused.

Several people have multiple MD2017 and only some of them work.

I think failure rate is currently about 5%

OK.

Thanks.

I guess that 1811 = Manufactured November 2018

I think TYT stopped production in 2019 or 2020 and all radios bought after that date were from warehouse stocks

New Information

New Information

I already knew that MD2017 has 2 transceiver chips in it, but I could not see an audio signal output from TRx_2 (secondary TRx chip)
TRx_2 definitely does not have a RF Out connection for Tx, and does not have a Mic input connection

But I received new information today, from Silvano IU2KWO, that there is an audio output from TRx_2 and also that each TRx in the radio has separate Rx preamps for VHF and for UHF. i.e the radio has 2 x VHF and 2 x UHF RF preamps

So... The radio is capable of true Dual Watch on FM, and may even be capable of Single Frequency Repeater on DMR.
The limition in Dual Watch is that there is only 1 DMR chip in the radio, so it can't decode signals from TRx_1 and TRx_2 at the same time, so the radio can't know if there is a DMR signal on TRx_2 without interruping DMR Rx on TRx_1

But this is only a limitation if a frequency can have multiple modes e.g. DMR and D-STAR and YFS or FM etc.

Ok, I ordered the radio directly from Retevis 2019-06-13
