Changes to Theme 1701

Post by G0NQA » Sun Feb 25, 2024 8:11 am

In the manual: press the green button to apply theme changes, but changes are temporary. To set changes to permanent: press the green button + SK2. This does not work as upon radio power cycle, off/on, changes revert back to where they were previously.

I just tried, and it works as expected.

Are you sure to:
- press the SK2 button,
- being in that screen when pressing SK2+Green https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... -options-1

Cheers.

Thanks for your reply.

SK2 + Green doesn't work on my radio. I tried this several times. I changed in CPS in the end.

I discovered SK3 + Green makes theme changes permanent on my radio. So my buttons appear to be different. Anybody else have this issue?

There is no SK3, you got the side buttons wrong. On the DM-1701, from top to bottom, Orange/PTT/SK1/SK2

There is no orange button - please see attached https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/shjyroor ... 70a2b&dl=0

In the manual on page 1 it lists from the top of radio: SK1, PTT, SK2 and SK3

I think I know what I'm talking about https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... ted-radios.

Code: Select all

. The Baofeng DM-1701 | Retevis RT-84 does not have the Right and Left array buttons,
P1 is used as Left button, P2 is used as Right button.
The Orange button is located above the PTT.
In menu screens the Up and Down buttons move up and down and the rotary control is
used to control the value of each setting, in the same way that the Left and Right
buttons do on the GD-77
Here, we're using the OpenGD77 terminology. Yes, it's not Orange, but it acts as the Orange one, opening Quick Menus.
We don't care about the manufacturer's manual, there is not point to use it as a reference for the OpenGD77 firmware.
Also, as you can notice, there is 2 dots on the SK2, and one dot on the SK1 buttons. Easy to remind.
