I did test and my Programming cable for TYT MD-380 did not work.
I have the original cable to my RT-84.

USB D+ and D- connections are transposed on Baofeng radios

Not to create another post with the similar question:
Could someone please confirm that the DM-1701 needs a specific cable?
Namely I have two cables that work with Anytone 878, but I can not get the to work with my new DM-1701

Yes and No.

DM-1701 works with DM-1801 and RD-5R cables, basically other Baofeng direct USB cables.
It does not work with Baofeng UV-5R etc cables that have a USB to Serial converter chip in the plug.

DM-1701 cables are also not the same as TYT UV380 / MD760 etc etc cables, in that the USB D+ and D- signals are swapped.

Possibly Anytone cables are like TYT UV380 cables, in which case if you cut one of the cables in half, and reconnect the 5V and 0V and swap the D+ and D- it may work, but you would need to find the pinout etc of a Anytone cable.

You can also make your own cable by buyting a 2.5mm and 3.5mm plugs can cut up an old USB cable e.g from a mouse, and make your own cable

I've had to make cables for various radios including Quansheng UV-K5, and MD-2017 etc etc because they didn't come with their own specific cables.

I keep old USB cables when I throw away devices like mice, in case I need a USB cable with all 4 wires in it. Note. USB charging cables sometimes don't have the data wires, and only have 5V and GND

Thanks for the help!
I manged to borrow a Baofeng RD-5R cable and now everything is working.

So just to confirm that Anytone cable is not compatible with Baofeng DMR radios (DM-1701, 1801, RD-5R).

This is not really a surpise as Baofeng seem to deliberately make their radios use different cables, so they can charge extra for their 'special' cables, as TYT and anyone elses cables don't work, even though the cable contains the same signal wires, just in a different order
