First of all I express the best congratulations to all of you for the excellent work done! I have a Baofeng DM1802 Plus, an inexpensive and little-known device, where I installed OpenGD77 in the version for 1701. Well, not only has everything improved but I discovered a detail that I think is interesting: if I download the whole world database of ID's it tells me that the total number is 236754 with a Max capacity of 1068235!!! Incredible! I also backed up the MCU and Flash memory... well, the latter is 16MB! I conclude by renewing the best compliments. Cordiality '73. Thank you ;)

Yes, all if the newer radios with the larger flash chip can easily handle the database for the whole world.

This was a pleasant surprise for me as well. Took a while to write it to the radio, but it's so much nicer than filtering. Love it!

Hi,

same effect here: OpenGD77 DM-1701 decodes only fragments of incoming DMR while stock FW works fine on the same device.
Probably the "donor software" of MD-9600 ist not really suitable for DM-1701?

Donor firmware is only used for audio codec ( AMBE ) encoding and decoding

More likely is some unknown reason difference with calibration data

Please use a frequency counter etc to compare the Tx freq. Your counter needs to to have 190Hz or better resolution

Hi Roger,

Thanks for explaining, now I understand the meaning of "donor software", it's just the AMBE codec stuff.

Adjusting the "Freq Adjust" setting for both VHF / UHF I had performed some days ago, but I probably missed to hit SK2 + "green" to save settings permanently. I've just repeated the calibration against my Racal Dana 1992 disciplined with Leo Bodnar's GPSDO, each band center freq was some dozen of Hz below the target, I've adjusted it again and saved it. Let's see in the next days, if there is any improvement audible.

In general, DM-1701 seems to perform somewhat better in analogue mode: It is pretty sensitive for a HT and it lacks of all this digital noise which other radio like Anytone or older DMR HTs show on analogue.

I hope development of OpenGD77 will proceed further in future, thanks for the already achieved milestones!

Hi,

With the latest firmware on Retevis RT84, only the black and white theme is available, even if l uploaded color theme, it is not applied.
If I uploded firmware from May, everythig works fine.
Does anyone have the same issue?

Thanks and 73

Hi,

Okay, I will check that later today.
Just to confirm, are you using the latest released CPS ?

Cheers.
