BTW.

I received my DM-1701

Looking at the mapping of the P1 and P2 keys, its not so simple to map these to left and right, because the code in the VFO and Channel screens was re-written to use the Up and Down arrows on the UV380/RT3S for the functions of the Left and Right arrows

But also there were other changes so that the Up and Down arrows would start the scan etc

So its not a simple change to change all instances of Up to Right.

Possibly there needs to be a separate codebase for the DM-1701 or there probably needs to be different VFO and Channel screen source files

e.g. uiChannelScreen_DM1701.c and uiVFOScreen_DM1701.c , because i think doing conditional compilation on many places in the code may make the code unreadable / unmaintainable.

i.e the uiChannel and uiVFOScreen code would probably be very similar to the GD77 code

Retevis RT3S VS RT84.
I like the sound quality of both radios, these radios are fuller and better dynamic than the GD77. I feel that the build quality is better on the RT3S than the RT84 which seems a bit more plastic. OpenGD77 works very well, but had to calibrate the frequency of the RT84 for it to work against my HotSpot. The default value of 430MHz was -56 and changed to -50 without BER on my HotSpot. Many thanks to Roger and all the developers for this amazing software.

FYI.

Source code is now almost ready to be released.

It has not been cleaned, but redundant files have been removed etc

However I need the other developers to confirm that everything looks ready.

Based on https://github.com/v0l/radio_tool project, and the decompiled code from the latest OpenGD77CPS, the latest 20230227 beta version OpenMDUV380(openGD77) firmware successfully flashed into Baofeng DM-1701.

Most functions except the keypad seem to work correctly. I also have Baofeng DM-1802, the PCB is exactly the same except the navigation key uses vertical pads instead of horizontal pads which should be their compatibility design.
BD4VOW,原来是你首先发现了DM1701也有机会用OpenGD77固件啊!感谢你和VK3KYY的努力!我正用着DM1701B,挺好的。
