Hi guys.
Here are the updated italian.h and wordlist_italian.csv files for the current PublicBeta_20210905 release written by consulting Fabio IU4LEG:
italian.h+wordlist_italian.cvs.zip
(7.71 KiB) Downloaded 84 times
Compared to the previous revision, only small changes were made.
Following the same logic the wordlist_italian.csv file has also been drawn up.
From my point of view the implementation of satellite function is really impressive!
Honestly I do not even understand how it was born the ingenious idea of inserting that new feature, which to what I know is not available on any other transceiver on the market.
Many, many thanks to Roger, Daniel F1RMB and all the people involved in the OpenGD77 project!

Okay, I've raised a PR, with an updated file (as the latest Beta version has some modifications).

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

What is the project name at GitHub?
(I'm unable to find it under OpenGD77 name -or I need new glasses- )

Files are no longer on github because they don't comply with githubs terms and conditions

Localisation files are in the beta release folder on this server, as described in my post

Hi

I noticed you didn't translate the compass directions

.symbols = "NSEW", // symbols: N,S,E,W

Is this OK on Italian, because I didnt think West started with a W in Italian.

This is used on the location screen for Latitude (N / S) and Longitude ( E / W)
Yes Roger,
Sorry, you are right, I modified the file.
West in Italian is " Ovest".
No worries.

I'll update the text, using your latest file

FYI.

If you want to translate the CPS, I've put the language XML files into then localisation folder in a sub folder called CPS

If you look at the German xml you can see what you would need to translate. i.e the parts of the xml which say Text="xxxxxx"

e.g.

<Control Id="grpBootScreen" Text="Startbildschirm" />

The text to change is Startbildschirm

I copied the English xml to make the Swedish XML, but its not included in the installer yet, because I only just added it.

To test this, just copy swedish.xml into the Languages folder next to the CPS exe

PS.

Its a lot of work, as there are thousands of texts to translate.

I need to scuba deeper... I didn't see that directory.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

thanks - attached the corrected german.h

P.S. I did not translate the string .suspend yet - had not found a consistent german translation.
Maybe a suggestion: standby is often used as well in german. Possibly that could used instead of suspend?
What do you (and Roger) think?
Another option would be "Sleep" in English, but I'm not sure if the meaning would translate literally into German

The changes to Italian and German will be in the next public Beta version

Daniel is making some more changes to fix DMR problems, so I will wait until these changes are complete and stable.

Note. I found a bug in the satellite code which affects Tx on UHF, where the freq is not updated often enough to fully compensate for Doppler, becuase the Tx freq is only updated when the Rx freq is updated and if the Rx is VHF it does not change as much as the Tx on UHF.

I can't update the Rx (and Tx) freq constantly, because it causes a 50 milliscond, or more, dropout on Rx when the freq is changed, becuase the Rx needs to be disabled before the freq is changed.

Anyway. I have made a fix for this small problem, which will be in the next Beta release.

I tried to use your voice prompts csv file, but Excel (or whatevery speadsheet you used), as changed the character encoding so that the accented characters are mangled :-(

eg.

PROMPT_CHANNEL_MODE Modalità canale

Also, its added 3 extra columns.

Can you edit the original again, using a simple text editor e.g. NotePad++

http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

and ensure that the file keeps its UTF8 encoding

Thanks
