i was wondering if there is APRS messing functionality with the OpenGD77? i am new so pleas forgive me if this has already been discussed. I have gotten APRS beaching to work witch i did not before, using open GD77

Only APRS beacon is supported. i.e location packets

AFIK the radio hardware in the handheld radios does not have a audio input connection to the CPU, so AX25 / Packet messages are not possible , as they would be Tx only even if we implemented the Tx side of AX25

That makes sense, I just thought that it was an option on the stock fearmwear that’s why I was interested in it being implemented here, Thanks for the info! Just curious is there an HT that supports APRS messaging with Open GD77?

The official firmware on these radios does not support FM APRS or AX25/packet
