[WON'T FIX] Error reading from radio

After an install of the most recent firmware (2023120210552/6d3f4cd D) with the most recent CPS (R2023.11.26.02), I'm getting errors when I try to read data from the radio.

Other than that, the radio appears to operate normally (in analog), and I can even flash codeplugs to it.

Writing completes normally and the codeplug is updated.

The status message on the upload dialog box is "Error while reading", as on the attached screenshot.

The message shown on the radio when the error happens is:

CPS
Reading
Codeplug

The codeplug I'm playing with is this one: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3323, as it is quite comprehensive and I assume it tests all relevant features of the firmware.

I suppose it is something I'm missing, would appreciate any hints while I'm RTFM.

Hi,

Looks like a communication problem, double check the cable (continuity), reinsert the connectors, connect to a different USB port on your computer. Things like this.

Thanks, tried that, but appears the problem is not with the cable/connection - it updates fine from Windows on every port.

FWIW, the wine console has this error:

Error. Read stopped (error at 00000880), where the number differs between different incarnations, indicating, as you say, communications problem.

I assume this message isn't very telling, though. I'll see if I can generate a more meaningful log.

At least I have it working on windows, so that sorta solves it for me.

We do not support the CPS running under wine.


FYI, I'm using VirtualBox for all of this, it works flawlessly.
