Missing features

Post by KC9GWK » Thu Nov 30, 2023 10:57 pm

I installed OpenGD77, but I see now with the CPS there are no settings common to the manufacturers CPS, like show channel name instead of freq.
Am I missing something or is this is what is it?
Thank you.

Almost all of those types of configurations are done on the radio itself and not via the CPS.

In channel mode, the assigned channel name is displayed by default. You need to press a button to see the frequency:

I found this image in the documentation very helpful and printed it out: https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... tSheet.png

The whole point of a Channels is to assign a friendly name to a frequency.

For situations were Channels don't have friendly names, e.g. for simplex frequencies e.g. 145.500Mhz , simply name the channel the value of the frequency "145.500"

You can always display the frequency of a Channel, just press SK1 (or equivalent button)

If you don't have the time to enter the frequency of each channel into the name, simply export the codeplug to CSV and use your spreadsheet to set the name field to the value of the frequency field and then import the updated CSV file

If you want to operate the radio by frequency, simply use the VFO and not the Channels. The radio has 2 VFO's A and B.
