Will the open gd77 hold the entire dmr user database?

No.

The Flash memory is only 1Mb and a lot of the memory is used for the codeplug and other data

The CPS is designed to handle this by allowing filtering by region, and also allowing the user to choose how much information about each ID is stored in the radio (number of characters) e.g. Minimum number of characters required to hold only the callsign is 7 or 8 depending on your region.

If you want callsign and name and location, you need to specify more characters per record and this takes more memory.



The UV380 / DM1801 etc have 16Mb memory and can hold the entire user DB

I am trying to download database to my radio open gd 77 no luck.
I go to extras than to download database ,top left region , once downloaded write to radio .
No call signs yet showing on handheld got to be doing something wrong ?
