Mu-uv380/90 CPS option for tx/Rx signaling and ste

Post by KO4AXL » Tue May 09, 2023 2:28 am

Hi all,

KO4AXL here. I've noticed an issue with my openmduv380 and I'm hoping someone may have an answer. Not a huge issue but an annoying one nonetheless.

The mduv380 and 390 original firmware had settings that you could enable that prevented tx squelch tails. Mainly dcs turnoff codes and the ctcss equivalent.

This is called STE, or squelch tail eliminate.
It works in RX, just not in TX!

Is there anything like this in the openmduv380 firmware? If not, I'd love to help test it. :) It's really irking me when using my echolink node with it and hearing folks complain about the squelch tail. ;)

Another ham who I recently got up and running. With this firmware is having the same issue.

Bump....does anyone have an answer for this one? Or is this something that can be fixed in the next firmware release?

I'd be glad to help test.

The original gd-77 CPS and firmware has STE. See attached screenshot.

Any way that could be added to the CPS?

It is located under each channel.

STE is not implemented in OpenGD77. This may change in the future but it is currently an extremely low priority.

Thanks Colin.
Agreed, not a huge deal, but thought I'd at least ask. :)
When it does come up, I'd be glad to help you test it.
