"B" dtmf tone unavailable?

Post by wa2n » Sat Feb 25, 2023 7:41 am

I tried to send a B dtmf tone and it looks like there's no key for that digit. Probably due to 2 arrow keys not 4 on the RT-3s. Am I missing something?

Possibly I can program a string with the CPS. *B1 are the characters I need to send to an Allstar node to shut it down, which I can't do with the RT-3S.

BTW - loaded the 2-25 Beta firmware on 3 older RT-3S / UV380 "STM" units tonight. I did have a problem with a DMR channel that I use with a hotspot not keying up the hotspot, so I reloaded the experimental alpha firmware, and the problem disappeared. Then I reloaded the Beta firmware, and the problem was still gone (and did not have to reload the codeplug). Not worthy of an error report, but just an observation of some weirdness on DMR.

We had to remap some features due to missing keys.

Up arrow = A
SK1 + Up arrow = B
Down arrow = C
SK1 + Down arrow = D

Thought I tried that last night. Actual mapping is up arrow A, down arrow C up SK1 B and down SK1 D.

I will need to update the User Guide, but documentation keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the ToDo list

Your priorities are valid! Amazing you guys pulled this off with the new CPU.

The new CPU is 99.9% the same as the genuine CPU. The problem however is that the 0.1% difference is critical to the Operating System used by the firmware. We had to modify the Operating System files, as well making other changes to resolve the problem.

Its probable that the new CPU has other differences which we are not aware of. But if there are other differences they don't seem to affect the operation of the firmware.
