Radio Not Connected, or not in DFU mode

I'm in trouble for usb drive that doesn't fully recognize RT3S. Retevis does not provide the driver on the retevis website. I can download the codeplug, I can't download the firmware. The message is : "Radio not connected, or not in DFU mode" if the radio is not connected because I can transfer the codeplug and does not work for the firmware. My computer is an Lenovo Z400.

I think it would solve if the firmware had the option to choose and activate the USB port.
This problem happens with older computers even with windows 10

Hi
I advise you to read the user guide, there it explains the installation steps.
You need to install the driver/serial port driver.
there is also a video where Roger explains everything

driver link - https://drive.google.com/file/d/17-kzmo ... sp=sharing

I hope it helps

I installed STM32CubeProgrammer recently to uppdate my Malahit radio.

After that I was unable to upgrade my RT3S , in device manager it was listed as a "Digital Radio in USB mode" with some other STM driver.

Took some efforts where I tried various things to get the radio in DFU mode, at last I succeeded to install the USB drivers from the RT3S directory again.

Lars, I am exactly in the same situation right now, what did you install?
I tried the 'OpenGD77CommDriver' - there is 'wdi-simple.exe' in it.
If I start that, a command window comes up:

Extracting driver files...
Success
Installing driver(s)...

and after a while this window is closed (timeout ?)

Still, can not acces in DFU mode, RT3S is listed as a "Digital Radio in USB mode" (?)

I installed the drivers from Retevis for the RT3S again, I don't remember exactly how but I clicked on various exe files for the 64 bit drivers in the Retevis RT3S directory.

If I understand it correctly the radios use the DFU mode for firmware updates (even opengd77) as we set the radio in the same mode as we would have done with original firmware updated.
Other functions such as config updates, contacts update, sat tracks is loaded via a com port driver that is included in the opengd77 cps package.

I may have used the device manager to delete the the not wanted driver, so that it isn't in the driver cache anymore.
Sometimes you need to be a bit mean to windows...
