Can anyone with the dropout problem, please try these versions

downloads/MDUV380/Firmware/speed_tests

They use different CPU clock speeds, and this seems to improve the dropout problem on my radio, even though the CPU clock speed in these tests is lower / slower than in the normal version

I will start tests during this week and report my findings. Thanks for the developing the system to this radio.

Hello. Please tell me what frequency is used in the factory firmware? Is it better to start testing with a high frequency?

We don't know for certain what speed the factory firmware uses because we don't have access to any of their source code.

The different CPU frequencies should not be noticeable, and for most people will not make any difference. For those who are experiencing the dropout issue it might help.

I would suggest trying them all and see if you can detect any difference.

Colin.

I am testing the 144 MHz version and have no problems for about 10 hours of continuous use.
My eco level is 1 and the display brightness is set to maximum 80% and minimum 2%.
I am connected to DB0WOF in Germany.
Thanks

Can you try the slower clock rates e.g. 96MHz as this will give bettery battery life, but perhaps has problems

I haven't noticed any issues with the 144 or 120MHz versions. Loaded the 96MHz version to test this morning.

Update: I haven't had any break ups with the 96MHz version firmware.

Thanks for the speed test versions!

Interesting to see others reporting on their good expericenes with the higher MHz versions...

I went from 144 MHz to 120 MHz and then tried the 96MHz. The 144&120 MHz versions still had dropouts on my RT3S (test setup as per earlier post). The 96MHz version appears to be stable with no dropouts since this early AM.

Just went back to 144 MHz for a quick cross-check and had another dropout after ~20 Min.

There were failures at 144 MHz. Now I have been testing 120 MHz for 24 hours. There were no failures, most likely.

OK

I am working on some more changes, but will probably use 96Mhz if possible, because it gives better battery life, because the CPU takes less current at lower clock frequencies.
