169 or 20 (super small, as you also use 16 characters per contact in the window), it's peanuts, it would flash this in 2 seconds.
So, quick reboot is normal here.

Clear region input field, hit download button, select 50 char in the drop down list, then clock "Write to radio". It will take ~20 minutes to flash, as it the world database.

And it's normal that the transceiver reboots at the end of the upload.

Hi just tried to download the region #257, it's 169 entries, fine, but the content of the "Details" column differs from your video.

Thank you! I tried this and it really took a long time to load.
so I'll check the display of callsigns a bit later

so now I see the callsigns.

this is weird.
downloading the full database seems to have fixed something.
now if i load region 257 (or whatever) i see the callsigns as well.

thank you very much for your help.

Maybe you had some corrupt flash memory that needed to be overwritten?

I don't know. everything else worked fine. I think.
and this is a new transceiver. I bought it and installed OpenGD that evening.

Hi There,

First time poster although ive been keenly following the project for some time now before signing up to the forum.
You guys have done some amazing things here with the MD-UV380 radio not to mention the other devices.

I have recently became the owner of one of the MD-UV380 radios after i found the older MD-380 i had was unable to load the MD380Toolz firmware due to the revised hardware which seemed to reject the MD380Toolz firmware with an audio bug.

Heading back on topic , i flashed the MD-UV380 with the latest Alpha and am really happy with the functionality, i have quite a bit to learn with regard to the features. One thing i am unsure of is the so called promiscuous mode if there is such a thing present?

I have searched around and cannot see anything related to the radio being able to be left on a frequency and hear whatever CC/TG is on that frequency...if there is such a feature?

In respect of the other issue (all my own issues not the devs/firmwares) is the setting of the satellite , i understand the MD-UV380 has no location features by way of GPS hardware regardless , however in the menu i am able to set ...eg 55.94531N 004.83421E although the former 'North/South' (55.94531N) is able to be changed there is no way (that ive found) to change the latter (004.83421E) to 'West' if that matters for those who do have the ability of setting a location, i am not sure if this matters .

I cannot see anything whatsoever by way of bugs or problems and i use this radio as my daily driver, TX audio has been said to be slightly better than my yaesu HT. The scan feature is amazing even if you have to switch it on/off after setting 'scan on boot' to get it to scan, unless ive missed something.

Kudos to all involved in the project your attention to these devices is really appreciated .

I'll get back to reading the other posts now

Many Thanks -Kind Regards

Rab
