Thanks for the feedback.

I found more information on the openRTX webpage and discord, and they confirmed that the
Tytera MD-UV380
Tytera MD-UV380G
Tytera MD-UV390
Tytera MD-UV390G
Retevis RT3s
Retevis RT3s (GPS)
are the same radio hardware wise.

I ordered the RT3s and I will try to install this firmware on it when I receive it. I will inform you if it works

We already know it works in the RT-3S.

But we don't know whether it works on the UV390 or UV390G

Just a quick update on the current consumption

Most of the additional current consumption is being caused by the GPS receiver which we currently have powered all the time

I will need to modify the firmware so the GPS is only powered when the operator is trying to get a GPS fix , as the GPS takes up to 50mA.

There are a few other things which are causing around 10mA extra current consumption, but the GPS is the main problem, and also that we don't use any form of power saving at the moment

So I will need to continue with the work on Eco modes / Power Saving, after I fix the GPS current problem.

Be careful, maybe MD-390 and MD-UV390 are not identical. For example, the MD-390 has a Double Conversion Superheterodyne receiver whereas the UV390 has the Direct Conversion receiver.

Just a note -When loading the voice prompts they do not appear in sound options>prompt.
Just beep and silent
Thanks for the great work

They do appear, if you don't see them then the Voice prompts have not been correctly uploaded. Which then means you only see beep or silent.

The MD-390 is a MD-380 with a GPS and a waterproof case. It uses an HR-C5000.

Cheers.

Is there a Quick Menu yet so I can check the Digital Monitor setting? (Or how to get to it?).
Quick menu can be accessed by SK1 + Green. This alternate is already in the GD77 I think
I must have missed it in the very fine manual, thanks.
I can't remember if that got added to the manual

If its not there, let me know and I'll add it.

But I'm kinda busy with the UV380 battery life / current consumption at the moment

I have created and experimental version which has Eco modes enabled

If you are feeling adventurous try this version

downloads/MDUV380/Firmware/43d669cfcfef ... 5f5dd8f45/

Also, to prolong the battery life, set the backlight timeout, so that the backlight goes off, because the backlight consumes about 40% of the total power when the radio is in Eco mode.
