The ability to backup flash is part of the OpenGD77 firmware. So it can only be done after installing OpenGD77.

I'm very happy with OpenGD77 its turned my RT3S into my favorite radio.

But I am curious, if I wanted to go back to stock firmware - what are the steps? Do I simply restore the flash memory backup I made during OpenGD77 firmware installation process, then run Retevis' flash program to install their firmware? Any other steps?

Yes, that's about it.
You would also need to load an original firmware codeplug.

I'm running everything (original and OpenGD77 CPS) and performing flashing from Windows 10 running under VMware Fusion using free personal license. I have an Intel based 2018 mac mini at home as my only computer.

I couldn't flash the OpenGD77 firmware onto the radio until I changed the port config in VMware fusion settings, from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0. This can only be done while the VM is not running.

Hi, I'm trying to download the "CPS" from the link downloads/CPS/Latest and I'm getting a 404 - page not found.

Moreover, I'm getting browser warnings that the download page is "unsafe".

Is this guide with the download locations in it still valid?

Nevermind, I guess it is the PC_CPS/latest/ instead.
