Thanks all the contributor for the fantastic work!

Installed it on RT3S, it works great. Much better than original firmware and and make the radio a real HAM radio!

Roger,

your installation guide RT3s:
Is this the correct link for the original firmware?
Can that be true?

Radioddity has firmware for the UV380 via this link:
https://www.tyt888.com/uploadfile/upfil ... 143046.zip

I took this link (RT3s non GPS):
https://www.retevis.com/rt3s-dual-band- ... -in-gps-eu
Support\RT3s-Firmware-S19.06\ (RT3s(CSV)-V19.06.bin

After restoring the flash, the original firmware worked again!

There are many different versions of the official firmware

I don't know which is the best

This is great news!

Does the satellite part work OK? Have you actually made a satellite contact with it?

I was going to get a GD77 for satellite work, but they are all sold out.

I installed opengd77 on a recently acquired new RT3s.
After I understood how the installation works - it runs fine also with MMDVM hotspot under Pi-Star.
Thanks to the programmers for the effort.

Hi!

Another report that OpenGD77 does NOT work on MD-UV390. After flashing, the LED stays stuck in the bootloader mode (flashing green/red)

I really recommend the title of the forum removes UV390. It is misleading and may lead to people bricking their radios. Not complaining, just trying to help users who, like me, may read the forum and think that OpenGD77 may work on their radios when it is not compatible.

If it helps, my UV390 is an old one, not the new one with the different MCU.

When you say "Another report that OpenGD77 does NOT work on MD-UV390" . Do you mean this is your own personal experience, or something that someone posted elsewhere on the web etc etc.
Do you know the callsign of the person who had the problem, did you suggest they post here so that we have first hand information?

Just because the radio stays in the bootloader, it does not mean the radio is 'bricked'. It simply means the firmware installation has failed.

People can still flash the official firmware back onto their 390

If we do get first hand information, we may be able to make the firmware work for them, as there are many reasons, including operator error, incorrect DFU driver being installed by windows etc, which can cause the firmware not to be installed.
