tyt 9600 sensitivity issue

Post by kb3nun » Wed Oct 18, 2023 8:41 pm

Paint this picture in your head, I have a new TYT9600 V5 with stock firmware, and i cant hit the same repeaters as I can with the old radio ICV-8000, So it tells me that the tyt isnt sensitive enough in the front end, Now if I put the opengd77 firmware on it will it help, I have the opengd77 on all my md uv380 and i love it, but will it help with the sensitivity issue of the tyt9600

Thanks Kb3nun

The performance of the MD9600 is normally quite good. If you are experiencing a noticeable difference to other radios then you may have a hardware fault.
OpenGD77 won't make any difference to the sensitivity.

It's not a matter if that bother me, it's an English forum, you have to use it.
You can use Google translate for that, since you're using it to translate to Spanish.

Receiver sensitivity will not change just installing Opengd77, it's strictly a hardware design characteristic. Maybe you can try to reduce the squelch level (as LU2BAM mentioned), or even better install Opengd77 where is much easier to adjust squelch level.

I have tried adjusting the squelch only way i can hear the repeater is to have the squelch wide open,so i am guessing this radio has a hardware issue, and is still under warrenty
