New Beta version 2022 11 26

Post by VK3KYY » Fri Nov 25, 2022 9:48 pm

New Beta version with changes to the DMR APRS transmission

In the last version DMR APRS transmission required the Talker Alais text to also be sent.

In this version Talker Alias transmission control has been removed from the Radio Options, and is now 'Per channel', in that you need to enable Talker Alias or DMR APRS transmission on the channel and Timeslot

Options for TA transmission are

Off, APRS, Text, Both (APRS & Text)

CPS has been updated to support this change to the channel details.

Voice prompts have also been updated to support this version

Translation files will be posted soon.

Good morning!

Thanks for your great work!
just a little thing ..

I noticed that .. when I set the radio to German language in the menu
some letters in the menu are not displayed correctly on my md-9600 device.
Thats in the Last-Heard menu and in the RSSI menu. In German "zuletzt gehört" and "Feldstärke"

please see the pictures in my link

Thanks

This has also been reported for the GD77 version. All firmware platforms use the same file, so german langauge is broken for all radios at the moment

I am trying to fix it now

I've fixed the problem with the German language translation file

See

downloads/MD9600/Firmware/Latest

I have also made 2 other changes

Language menu is now a sub-menu in the Options menu
If settings are reset, the firmware will display the Language menu so that the operator can again choose their preferred language.

Thanks roger, I tried the new firmware and it works great. Is it possible to change this for the GD77 and MD-UV380 as well?
I also like the 2 additional changes.
Thank you for the great effort.

Hi,

just noticed issue when scanning a memory zone on RT90. The last channel in the zone does not stop when received signal is active on channel. The channel is Analogue FM with CTCSS. If I step through the channels manually in the zone, the CTCSS is detected correctly and I hear audio - but when scanning, the radio never stops on this last channel in the zone. I increased the scan dwell and it still does not stop on this channel. I think it is something to do with being the last channel in the zone, as I removed the channel causing issue, and the new last channel in the zone has the same issue.

Otherwise, all working very well indeed. Many thanks.

John

Hi John,

I have just tried to reproduce the issue you reported and I can't make it fail. I set up a test zone containing 8 FM channels, each with a different CTCSS tone.
All channels were detected correctly when scanning, including the last one.

If you are still having problems then please post a codeplug so that I can test your exact setup.

Hi Colin,

sorry for the delay - been away over Christmas. Hope you had a good time and Happy New Year in advance.

I just tried again and cannot re-create the issue. Not sure why - I may revert to older code plugs to see if it was something I changed.

Sorry for the bother - but will let you know if I manage to re-create the problem. Thanks for testing.

thanks
John
