Hardware Version V4A GPS

I just received a MD-9600 GPS radio. I opened the case and the main board is marked
"MD-9600-UV-V4A-201111"
Handwritten above that is GPS and on the side of the radio is a sticker that states GPS.
From what I have read in TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 section, the V4A would use the V5 firmware. Is this correct?
Also being a GPS radio is there any issues that I should be aware of?
I am planning on putting this in the wife's car as her mobile.

Yes, you need to flash the V5 firmware. There is no issue with the GPS featured version (I own the same exact model, disguised in a Retevis RT90).

Good afternoon, I have attached the D026.038 firmware calibration file here, it may come in handy for further development. Power seemed good to me. I have had this version of the firmware since the purchase. I installed the latest beta V5 and it works great. On the board it was written MD9600-UV-V4A-201111 But I can’t find such a firmware from the factory D026.038 !!! Maybe someone has such firmware D026.038 I will be grateful if you send it to me. Suddenly there will be a need to return the original factory firmware. And so everything is fine OpenGD is the best firmware and works fine on the MD9600. Looking forward to the RELIS version. Thanks for the hard work guys!!!

Hello all,
i just have got a new RT90 with V4A marked on the board inside. Where I can get the V5 firmware version? The EA5GK links do not offer that. But some guys apparently have flashed this version with success.
