How can I determine which version of MD9600 I have? I tried every version of firmware to identify a good backup firmware file but did not allow the unit to transmit or receive after loading.

Open the top of the radio and look at the Version number printed on the PCB

I think the person should read the first post in this thread, since that is where determining the version is and a lot of other info important to replacing the MD-9600 firmware with OpenMD9600.

Hello friends,

on the board is version V2.1 can I take firmware V1 or V2?

I only read here in the forum that there are V1, V2, V3, V4, V4A and V5

All early radios have V2.1 boards and should use the V1 or V2 firmware. The only difference is the backlight dimming method. If the backlight dimming doesn't work correctly then use the other version.

Yes , a normal USB A to USB Mini cable should work fine

Then you need the ST DFU driver some older versions are included in the factory software files.

Other you can use the latest driver that is included in the DFUSE demo programmer, I have a copy on my site.
