Is there a link to a English version of the installation procedure please, as the links on the site take you to a French website with no ability to translate to English.

Many Thanks

What is wrong with installation guide?! It's in English. Links just take you to download locations of some files needed. Take the file(s), get back to reading the guide. Simple enough.

The links take you to a French speaking website, sadly I don't speak French.

The links you are referring to are just to download the official firmware and CPS as a backup if you don't already have it. This is not normally needed.

The links later in the document are in English.

As stated in the instructions it is here :-

downloads/MD9600/Firmware/Latest

You will need to select the correct version for your radio.
The JA versions are for Japanese users.

Many thanks for all the help, I now have a fully functioning Retevis RT90 programmed with OpenMD9600 software, well chuffed as the radio was given to me as a spares/repair project, again many thanks to everyone involved developing this software.

Firmware installation instructions

[*] You should now backup the Flash memory in your MD9600 and save that file in a safe location
This is very important, because the official firmware will not run again on the radio unless you restore the Flash memory before reverting back to the official firmware.
[*] After the Flash backup is complete. Upload your normal OpenGD77 codeplug to the MD9600, you can also upload Voice Prompts, Satellite data and DMR ID's.
It seems that I have the exact problem w/ the CPS hanging / freezing (needs to end task ) when I was doing the backup of the Flash memory, that it happened to my RT3s a few months ago (that I reported). It's the same computer but a diff USB port, Windows 10.

So I don't have a backup Flash file for either of these 2 radios b/c of this.

Not sure if Rogers was able to duplicate this USB timing problem. Do you think it might work better if I use another computer? If so then it's not the end of the world here.
Because the backup takes soooooo long, it seems to be prone to glitches

I'll look at my MD9600 backup file and see if whether all 16M really needs to be backed up, or whether there should be the option to only backup the minumum size of the existing codeplug etc, which I think is in the first 2 or 3 Mb
