Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
Just went through the online docs and got OpenGD77 setup on a brand new TYT MD-9600. Fantastic work! Thanks to all the devs out there!
Might be time to sell my old Anytone AT-D578 Pro.

Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
Hello all,
I just have got a new RT90 marked with V4A on the board. It works properly with Retevis V5 Firmware RT90-CSV-GPS(2571V5)-P26.41.bin (Download from retevis.net and uploaded to the RT90 - all other old versions do not TXing). I have also downloaded MD9600_firmware_V5HW.bin from this board. When I try to select the official RT Firmware as donor FW I get the message "no official Software". The same happens with other offical FW as e,g. MD9600-CSV-GPSV4-P16.24.bin. My installed CPS is E2022.11.25. What is going wrong?

Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
As described in the installation instructions you must always select the file 'MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin' regardless of which radio version you are using. Only this file will work with the upload process. The exact file is required because we need to extract the DMR codec from it. It is not used for anything else.
The correct file can be downloaded from here https://www.passion-radio.com/index.php ... chment=760

Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
Dear Colin,
sorry for my mistake. I saw the ZIP Filename "210525 MD-9600 V4 firmware for PLL2571" and was not aware of V5 FW inside. It´s phantastic. All works fine now and I have my GD77 and RT3S Codeplug on the RT90 now. Thank you very much. One question. I have never worked on DMR direct frequencies (RX and TX frequency equal). During the tests with this new rig I noticed, that the transmitter sends out TS1 and TS2 jointly although only TS1 is enabled in the codeplug. But with my other GDs with OpenGD77 it´s the same behavior. Is that wanted?

Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
That is correct. The DMO (Direct Mode) ETSI standard only supports one transmission per frequency. There is no timeslot information included in the signal. So whichever timeslot you select the transmission is the same. Timeslot selection is only valid when in RMO (Repeater Mode).
There is an advanced mode called DCDM (Dual capacity direct mode) which does include timeslot information and allows two transmissions per frequency. However the OpenGD77 firmware does not support this mode which is rarely used in amateur radio.

Re: MD-9600 / RT-90 Installation
Hello,
now I have a MD-9600 from a friend. On the printed board I can read Hardware V2.1. I have tried to update with "MD9600-CSV(2571V5)-V26.45.bin" as DMR donor firmware and then with current "MD9600_firmware_V2HW" but no TX Power comes out. The screen counts up seconds as normal. Then I have tried out V1-V5 with the same result. What´s going wrong?
Best regards & 73

Did you confirm the radio was transmitting before installing the firmware?DF1OG wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 7:02 pmHello,
