I needed to set the DMR mic gain to -9 dB , otherwise it was terrible overmodulated.
FM seems to sound good with 0 dB but I changed it to -3 dB now for some testing.

I also changed DMR RX AGC to +3 dB

Using a TYT MD-9600 V2.1
The default FM gain will be changed in the next beta.

DMR Rx gain seems to be personal choice. Most people said the 0dB gain on the AGC is OK.

Its also possible the AGC will be modified in the next Beta, so not use the output DAC on the C6000, as this causes some compatibilities.
Instead the AGC will be probably be applied to the audio samples themselves.

I know this is OT, so please remove this post if it's deemed imappropriate.

I think if an MD-9600 is modified with the OpenGD77 firmware, it is no longer in compliant with FCC's Type Acceptance with the radio (under the Type 90 / 95 etc that is required for commercial, GMRS etc service), and thus, not legal to transmit on those frequencies. I think the TYT radio might have gained Type Acceptance w/ the FCC, but only if it is kept unmodified, and firmware modification is considered a modified radio.
Quite correct. That is one of the reasons the firmware licence specifically states that it is for amateur radio use only.

This has been discussed several times before. The rules vary around the world but most countries require that equipment be type approved for the service it is used on. That type approval includes the firmware. This Open firmware is not approved and so using it will invalidate any certification.

Some amateur radio licence classes may have the same restriction, but most full Amateur licences allow the use of self constructed equipment and non type approved equipment.

This applies to any firmware that you load onto any radio, apart from the firmware supplied by the manufacturer, which the FCC has approved.

We occasionally get people posting to the forum, asking questions about using the firmware as part of their commercial operations.
And on each occasion, we have to remind them, that apart from the license on the firmware which states Non Commerial only, they will also be breaking various laws if they use the radio with non-official firmware installed on it

We use V5 official firmware for all hardware versions.

You do not need the officials V2 unless you want to reinstall the official firmware

So why did you post this to the MD9600 section?
