yes i did, and tried to flash back to 2.1.9 afterwards, but with no luck. The device gave me the 'low bt version' message.

I did notice that those files are for a V2.1 board. Any way to find out which board my 1801 has?
Its probably printed on the board, but I doubt that makes any difference.
Its the official firmware version number which may need to match something in your radio.

Did you try restoring your Flash backup you took immediately after installing the OpenGD77 firmware?

I want to go back to Baofeng 2.1.9 software.

So I use the OpenGD77 CPS to restore the flash backup (64k version) and to flash the 2.1.9 firmware. But this gives me a 'low bt version' message.

Perhaps I should flash the 2.1.9 firmware with the Boafeng flash program, not sure if it makes any difference. But I don't have a working com port driver for that software. And Boafeng flash software requires a com port (OpenGD77 comport driver does not work as the phone has to be in flash-mode to flash the firmware
Re-install the OpenGD77.

Backup the flash, put the file somewhere it can be downloaded, post a link to the download here so it can be checked, because I perhaps the CPS is not restoring it correctly.

You can't post it here as the forum has limited file storage

The restore of the original backups, is definitely isn't working for you, I can still see the text OpenGD77 at the beginning of that file.

BTW.

Do you have a Ham radio callsign?

Anyway. I checked and the backup and restore works perfectly on my DM-1801

What version of the CPS are you using? The latest version is here

How to recognize DM-1801 versions?

DM1801 has two distinct versions:
  • 16CH/Zone, 32 zones, 1024CH total. 1M flash units and/or old FW, i guess? uses DM-1801 CPS
  • 32CH/Zone, 150 zones and 3000 total channels. the version i have, 2M chip and 2.2.1 fw. user manual on FCC site is for this one as well. the only working cps for this version i've found is called DM-860 CPS
How do you recognize which version is which? Do these versions look identical? Does the serial number tell the difference? Or the firmware version (2.1.* vs 2.2.*)?

After installing OpenDM1801, is there any way to recognize which version I have?
