No, I only have the CPS that was sent by the Chinese to my friend PU7FSE, no firmware file
If Baofeng have managed to convert their old firmware to completely run inside this module, then its unlikely they will be releasing any updates
Because these radio manufacturers do not publish any technical information about how to load firmware, this always has to be done by reverse engineering how the official firmware update works.
Without any official firmware update program etc, its another reason this radio could not be supported.
AFIK. TYT still manufactures the MD-760, which is the hardware used for the GD-77, so the RD-5R and MD-760 are currently the only radio that can be bought new that are compatible.
In the future it may be possible to support some older TYT radios, like the UV-380 and the MD-2017, but unfortunatly becuase the manufacturers are not interested in the open firmware, its unlikely any of the newer radios will ever be supported
BTW.
Its not just the Chinese companies who will not supply information about their radios. I know some people are trying to load firmware onto a Yaesu HT, but Yaesu don't release any information either
